8 Creative Ways to Work with Influencers Beyond the Standard Sponsored Post

It’s great you want to use influencers to promote your brand or product, but a one-off post doesn’t have nearly the staying power of an integrated campaign.

If you’re ready to think outside the box and come up with a few creative ways for influencers to spread your brand message, here are some ideas:

Go Live

Going live on Facebook or Instagram is a way for fans to engage in real-time with influencers. They can show exactly where they are, what they’re doing, and field questions about what’s going on as they interact with viewers in the moment.

Host an Instameet or Popup Event

An Instameet is a set gathering or meetup where fans can explore and snap photos with their favorite influencers IRL. Instameets are a great way to get the community involved and to show up at an actual location. You can track popularity by setting up a designated hashtag for the event.

Host a Giveaway

Influencers have access to a large audience so if you have a promotion or contest you’re looking to run; using their channels are a great way to spread the message and get their followers excited about your destination.

Create a Video

Some influencers are great as front of camera personalities, while others are great behind the camera documenting their journey. Either way, combine their stories, images, and snippets into a short Facebook-friendly video summarizing the in-market experience.

Instagram Takeovers

If you’ve properly vetted your influencers, they likely have a complimentary audience to yours. Have them do a few posts on your account to expose their audience more directly to your brand.

Use them as Content Experts

It’s one thing to have influencers write posts for their own blogs, but you can also use their strong following and voice to create content and guides for your own site. An influencer driven article sounds authoritative and provides a fresh perspective on a given topic.

Have Them Teach You Something

Influencers are social media all-stars so if that’s an area in which your organization struggles; invite them to share their best practices with you. The discussion can be as informal as how to take a great iPhone photo or as specialized as how to optimize your profile and get followers. You can even invite your co-op partners so all can benefit from the education.

Create a Brand Ambassador Program

Brand ambassadorships are great because you’re picking a set of influencers to have an ongoing relationship. Prolonged exposure means your content stays top of mind with their followers while offering a different perspective with each activation. This can mean showing off your destination in a different season or showing a product’s varying uses.

Whatever You Decide to Do…

Influencers have slightly different audiences on Facebook, Twitter, their blog, Youtube, and Instagram so make sure you’re repurposing content for all channels to hit as many touch points as possible.
